Bare Essentials 6-725 pm
Bare Essentials
"The Bare Essentials " is a lecture and discussion class. It will cover the basic components of constructing, focusing, and editing a successful burlesque act. Participants will focus on refining composition, identifying the main elements of an act, analyzing the types of 'teases', and pinpointing an act's central focus. Participants should come prepared to take notes and will be expected to openly discuss the subject matter.

Steps 735-9 pm
"Steps" is a hands on movement invention class by Reigning King of Burlesque, Ray Gunn. This practical and active workshop focuses on musicality and the creation and construction of choreography as it applies to burlesque concepts. Dancers will learn to match movement with themes, design choreography that includes cohesive imagery, and practice techniques to create a legitimate tease factor for a successful act. Students will need to come prepared with note-taking tools and dress comfortably to move.
