Classes for the

Burlesque Festival

Location: 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette at Astor Place, Manhattan. Fourth floor, studio 4A.
Go directly to the studio. Arrive dressed for a movement class (leggings, t-shirt, etc.), bring a spare pair of heels if you like, and a bottle of water.
NO FOOD ALLOWED IN THE CLASSES.

The New York School of Burlesque is the official provider of classes for the New York Burlesque Festival.

IMOGEN KELLY
- Class title: Go Big! with Imogen Kelly, Burlesque Hall Of Fame Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2012
- Class time: 1pm - 2:10pm
- Class description: Imogen won the judges' hearts at the 2012 BHOF Pageant with her extravagant style, consummate skill, and larger than life persona. In this workshop she will be sharing tips on movement, costuming, and stage presence that can take you rom VaVaVoom to "Holy Crap! Who was THAT?" Bring notebook, show shoes and be ready to move.
- Bio
Imogen Kelly is an Australian made performance artist and is notoriously known as World Queen of Burlesque 2012 after taking out the title at The Burlesque hall of Fame weekend in Las Vegas. Imogen is an internationally renowned theatrical writer, comedian, aerialist and character actor. She is unusual in the performance world for her ability to work many different styles from classic, comedy, theatrical, grotesque and circus. Her aesthetic is highly visual and her costumes are professionally crafted artworks. Imogen has completed a BFA in performance (COFA NSW, AUSTRALIA), a circus degree (ZACA ,UK) and a degree in film making (Sydney University, NSW). She is also a graduate from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in directing.
Her biggest claim to fame, however, is when Sydney Festival First Night shut down the city and Imogen was publicly married on Macquarie St in front of hundreds of thousands of well wishers. www.imogenkelly.com.au

Michelle L'Amour
- Class title: Pussy Confidence
- Time: 2:20pm - 3:30pm
- Class description: Think with your head and dance from your cunt. Learn how to base your moves in your sex and bring your performance to a whole new level. It's time to embrace the power of the P-U-S-S-Y! This is a movement class, so come dressed to dance.
- Bio: Michelle L'amour, Miss Exotic World 2005, is an internationally recognized burlesque performer, producer, instructor and choreographer residing in Chicago and New Orleans. Her burlesque school, Studio L'amour, is located in Chicago and has been open for over 6 years, but she has been teaching burlesque for 10 years. She is the director of Burlesque Hall of Fame's 'Best Troupe 2010', The Chicago Starlets, and is also the founder of Naked Girls Reading. L'amour is also the star of the viral video, 'Butthoven', earning more than 10 million views! Her instructional videos include Tease & Tone and Booty Lab. Burgundy Brixxx
- Class Title: Mambo-lesque!
- Class time: 3:40 - 4:50
- Class Description: Learn to isolate your assets! A swanky, hip-swiveling, undulating dance class taught to Classic 40's and 50's Hollywood-style Latin music with focus on body isolations, leg and foot work and upper-body carriage. Learn great movement techniques plus a fun piece of choreography in this mucho-fun workshop!
What to wear/bring:
